The Artist
Aécio Sarti was born on February 24, 1959, in Brazil, and studied at the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, United States.
Since 2004, he has lived in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, where he maintains a studio and a gallery in the city’s historic center, a space dedicated exclusively to his creations.
Renowned for using recycled truck tarpaulins as the foundation for his paintings, Aecio transforms a utilitarian material into an artistic medium, connecting materiality, memory, and transformation.
His works are characterized by large scale and striking presence, capable of turning environments into intense visual experiences.
